David Beckham, co-owner of Inter Miami, expressed his immense pride as the club finalized the signing of Lionel Messi. After Messi's confirmation last month of his move to the MLS team following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, the deal has now been made official.
Beckham, who played a pivotal role in establishing the franchise that commenced its journey in the MLS during the 2020 season, could hardly contain his excitement about bringing the World Cup-winning captain from Argentina to Miami.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate the confirmation of Messi's signing, Beckham wrote, "The next chapter of our story starts here. Ten years ago, when I embarked on this journey, I envisioned bringing the world's greatest players to Miami... Players who shared the same ambition I had when I joined LA Galaxy, to foster the growth of football in this country and create a lasting legacy in this beloved sport."
He continued, "Today, that dream has become a reality. I couldn't be prouder that a player of Leo's caliber is joining our club. Moreover, I am thrilled to welcome a dear friend, an exceptional individual, and his wonderful family to be part of our vibrant Inter Miami CF community.
